Tennis coaches don't just teach how to swing a racquet or how to set up for a perfect backhand down the line, they teach important life lessons and serve as role models to their students. Tennis Channel has begun searching for the top coach in the United States.

It takes a special skillset and the ability to adapt to players of all levels to be a great coach. With so many rising American juniors, collegiate players and pros, there's no mistake that America is home to some of the greatest coaches and Tennis Channel is eager to find out more about these individuals who contribute greatly to the game.

Submissions and voting have already begun and will end on March 14. Coaches can be nominated by their students, family, friends or even self-nominate. Tennis Channel judges will also be casting some of their own votes. The highest number of nominations will determine the Top 50 (25 women and 25 men).

On March 29, Tennis Channel fans will be able to cast their votes, which will narrow down the competition to just 10 final candidates. Five men and five women will enter the final round of fan voting.

The week of May 10, one man and one woman coach will be selected as the top coach winners. The champions of this inaugural voting event will be featured on Tennis Channel, TENNIS.com and in the TENNIS Magazine.

But, that's not all. Winners will also walk away with $500. In addition to the two winners, anyone that cast a vote will be eligible to win prizes, such as backpacks and more swag.

All coaches must be 18 years old, residents of the United States, currently certified by USPTA or PTR, and have a strong understanding of the sport and a passion for evolving the game. If you or someone you know has what it takes to be the America's Top Coach, cast your vote today.
