Last week tennis' power couple Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils did a 360 and the tennis world was not prepared for it. Following the Australian Open, the two disabled their G.E.M.S.life Instagram account and released a saddening message to fans.
"Gael and I decided to take a break from our relationship," Svitolina wrote. "The decision was incredibly difficult, because we still have love for each other, but it's just two best friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled life as possible."
Needless to say, fans of the couple were extremely disappointed to hear the news and an engagement was the last thing anyone could have expected. However, that's exactly what happened. Following Svitolina's semifinal run at the Miami Open, the two dropped the exciting news that they had not only reunited but are getting married. The special day is set for sometime in July. With G.E.M.S.Life back in action, what better time to re-live the most cherished moments of their relationship.
