Daniil Medvedev might be hobbling his way to victory at the Miami Open—plagued by cramps in the third round—but at least he looks fashionable. The Russian recently signed a deal with Lacoste to be the clothing brand's on-court sneaker ambassador.

He was spotted at the Australian Open with the new AGLT21 tennis shoes, the very pair that he helped design. The sneaker offers a padded collar around the ankle and a system that allows for double lacing when you want a tight fit. Players might not be as agile as Medvedev with the shoe, but they might get close.

Medvedev spoke on the design decisions when creating the sneaker.

"You need to be able to change directions very fast, and for this, your shoe must be very agile. Also, I like to slide before my shots, sometimes even on hard courts, so it has to be really stable," he said.

Medvedev is into the quarterfinals of the Miami Open after a gritty three-set affair against Alexei Popyrin in the Round off 32 before defeating American Frances Tiafoe in the Round of 16.
