Daniil Medvedev has gotten to a new career-high ranking of world No. 2 thanks to a combination of hard work, determination and, it turns out, a fairly comprehensive breakfast.

The Russian proved just how seriously he takes the most important meal of the day in what was ultimately a low-stakes sound check before the real pre-Miami Open interview began, listing several courses before the producer intervened.

Medvedev has enjoyed an all-but-unbeatable start to 2021, riding a 20-match winning streak into his second Grand Slam final and picked up his first title of the season at the Open 13 in Marseille. On the court and on, the 25-year-old is clearly in a zone.

"I thought you were serious about it," he laughed after appearing initially confused by the interruption.

Assuming he didn't leave anything out, let's quickly recap his Breakfast of Champions™:

1

Avacado Tartine

2

Poached Eggs

3

Cereal and fruit

As the top seed in Miami, Medvedev will undoubtedly aim to channel all of that fuel into his opening clash with Yen-hsun "Rendy" Lu on Friday after a first round bye.
