Yoshihito Nishioka

Michael Mmoh is on an upward trajectory after fighting his way through the Australian Open qualifying, and winning a main-draw match, before falling to Rafael Nadal in the second round. But Nishioka prevailed, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, in their opening round clash at Singapore's ATP 250 event.

The No. 5 seed will face Maxime Cressy next.

After falling short in both events Down Under, he captured his first win of the season by knocking out Aussie James Duckworth, 6-2, 6-4, in Singapore. Hanfmann will go up against No. 6 seed Radu Albot in the second round.
