The pair have played against each other seven times in their careers, with Djokovic leading the head-to-head record, 4 -3. Medvedev won the most recent battle, defeating the world No. 1 at the ATP Finals. He is just the third Russian in history to reach the Australian Open finals.
The Russian 25-year-old is seeking his first Grand Slam title after losing to Rafael Nadal in the US Open final in 2019.
