Americans Jessica Pegula and Jennifer Brady are making huge waves at the Australian Open. In the fourht round, Brady took Donna Vekic in straight sets, while Pegula posted her first-ever Top-10 win over Elina Svitolina. Now the two friends will face each other for a spot in the semifinasl.

Pegula who finished her win before Brady, grabbed a blue marker to write on the on-court camera lens, a tradition for winners at the Australian Open. She wrote: "Hi mom and dad. See you next round Jen B."

"Well maybe I shouldn't have wrote see you next round, but I was trying to be positive," Pegula told Tennis Channel moments later.

The note wasn't Pegula's first to Brady, having written this days prior.

Both players have come a long way. Brady recently reached her first major semifinal at last year's US Open, and this is just Pegula's second main-draw appearance Down Under. Their quarterfinal clash will be their second careering meeting with Pegula topping Brady in the first round of the Western & Southern Open last summer.

It's great to see their friendship is blossoming with Brady smoothly having an on-camera answer for Pegula after her win over Vekic.

The world No. 24 said she loves giving Pegula and her friends a hard time, although one would never expect that based on her reserved personality in press. She's more comfortable cracking jokes behind the scenes and online.

"I categorize myself as a troll on the internet," the 25-year-old said. "I like to give people sh*t, excuse my language, but I'm always down for a laugh and to have a good time. Hopefully I won't bore you anymore."

Brady lost to Pegula in their bout last year in straight sets, but she will be hungry to claim a spot in her second-ever Grand Slam semifinal. They will square off on Wednesday in Melbourne.
