Recently-retired Maria Sharapova returned to the court to give fans and players an all-access look at how she became a world No. 1.

Partnering with The Skills, which boasts celebrity coaches like Michael Phelps, Megan Rapinoe, and Kerri Walsh Jennings, Sharapova produced a 20-episode masterclass series that breaks down the physical, tactical, and mental elements required for tennis success.

"I think there's so many details that go unnoticed in routines, performances, and every day habits," she explains in the course's intro video. "They're all contributors to success, from a moderate to advanced level.

"I love sharing knowledge and education. When you're in the thick of things, you don't have time to share or time to educate. You also don't quite have the skill set because you're so deep into your sport and life, and it's very consuming.

"It has been nice to step away from what I did every single day and to really acknowledge and understand the minute and smallest details that go into everything."

The five-time Grand Slam champion promises to deliver helpful drills and stories from her 28 years in the sport that can help viewers improve their own games.

"I've had to work my way up from a very young age, and I learned so many lessons along the way. I hope I can bring a few of those to your life and training."

Sharapova announced her retirement from tennis last February, playing her final match at the 2020 Australian Open.
