In the final of the 2020 US Open, Dominic Thiem became the first person not named Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic to win a Grand Slam since Juan Martin del Potro in 2009.

The majors have been dominated by a small handful of stars for over a decade despite the very talented next generation breaking through at the majors.
