Baseline is looking ahead to the new year by showcasing 21 players under 21 to watch out for in '21. To make the coveted list, players must be born in 2000 or later.

At the Rome Masters this year, Lorenzo Musetti announced himself in style on his home soil, winning five consecutive matches—including wins over Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori—to qualify and reach of the round of 16. By throwing in several other strong showings over the shortened season, he's made himself the highest-ranked player age 18 or under, and therefore an exciting name to pay attention to as he finds his footing on tour.

Ranking: No. 128

Age: 18 (March 3, 2002)

What he did in 2020: Reached the Round of 16 in Rome; took the Challenger title in Forli, Italy; made the ATP semifinal in Sardinia, Italy.
