Baseline is looking ahead to the new year by showcasing 21 players under 21 to watch out for in '21. To make the coveted list, players must be born in 2000 or later.

There weren't too many opportunities in 2020 to break through at an elite level, but Ann Li, of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, made the most of the ones she got. After reeling off back-to-back-to-back qualifying wins to make the Australian Open, she won a main-draw match before falling to eventual champion Sofia Kenin. She later reached the third round of the US Open, with wins over Arantxa Rus and No. 13 seed Alison Riske.

By taking an ITF title this fall, Li broke into the Top 100 for the first time.
