The 2020 season will be remembered in history for many, many reasons and one not-so-terrible reason is the underarm serve. It has emerged in full force, so much so that Daniil Medvedev whipped one out on Monday at the ATP Finals.

The Russian was leading Alexander Zverev 6-3, 4-3 and felt comfortable enough to go for it:

The move threw Zverev off, and Medvedev eventually won the point.

"I think it was part of a tactic for him," Zverev said. "I was quite far back. Paid off. What can I say? It worked well for him."

"Here, it was just in the moment," Medvedev said. "I saw him really far. I was thinking OK where do I go? He's so far he's going to have trouble and he had trouble. I won't be doing this often, I think."

Medvedev went on to win the match, 6-3, 6-4, for his first win in two appearances at the year-end tournament.
