It is the end of an era. After next week, the ATP Finals will no longer be played in London. For almost 12 years, the final tournament of the ATP season has been battled out in the capital of England in front of thousands of fans. This season, eight players have shown up to play behind closed doors.

The ATP Finals began 50 years ago in Tokyo and have continued for five decades in 16 cities, but London holds the record for the second-highest number of consecutive years as the host of the ATP Finals, only one year behind New York City, which hosted the tournament for 13 years from 1977 to 1989.

The history is being celebrated this week with both groups of players named after the first and current hosts of the ATP Finals.
