A couple of Frenchmen highlighted Tuesday's action with impressive victories on their home turf in Paris after one, Corentin Moutet, had to withdraw due to COVID-19.

These are the Top 5 Photos from Tuesday.

Ugo Humbert

It was a slugfest from start to finish, but it was Humbert's unwavering focus that saw him to a 7-6 (4), 6-7 (8), 7-6 (3) victory against No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Frenchman had three match points in the second-set tiebreaker, but wasn't able to convert. Finally, after three hours and 16 minutes, the 20-year-old notched his second Top-10 win (defeated No. 5 Daniil Medvedev at September's Hamburg European Open).

Tommy Paul

The American lost a convincing first set to Gilles Simon to start off his campaign in Paris, but quickly stormed back from behind to take the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Paul will next face No. 12 seed Stan Wawrinka for the first time in his career on Wednesday.

Richard Gasquet

In one hour and 36 minutes, the Frenchman defeated American Taylor Fritz, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3, to end a three-match opening-round losing streak. The world No. 56 is feeling grateful to just be on the court competing amidst challenging times.

"You always have to put things into perspective... tennis players are lucky to play," Gasquet said. "The restaurants are not open, there are a lot of people who cannot work. We still manage to play at Bercy."

Norbert Gombos

The world No. 105 upset Paris' No. 8 seed David Goffin by erasing a 3-6 second-set tiebreak deficit to pull off a 6-4, 7-6 (6) win. The Slovakian wiped away Goffin's hope of claiming London's final spot and is into the last 16 for the first time at an ATP Masters 1000 event.

Stan Wawrinka

The three-time major champion was firing off backhand winners right out the gate as he claimed a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Dan Evans. Just last month in St. Petersburg, Wawrinka saved three match points to defeat Evans. The world No. 20 now holds a 5-0 head-to-head record against the Brit.
