A group of talented Americans stepped up to the plate around the world, including Texas, Kazakhstan and Bulgaria. Here are the top American movers and shakers as the tours head into their final tournaments of the year:

1

Semifinalist, Astana Open

It was a tough fight for Frances Tiafoe in Nur-Sultan, but he managed to great run to the semifinals. Along the way, the 22-year-old took down No. 2 seed Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets. Despite losing to John Millman, the eventual champion, this was the best run at an ATP tournament for Tiafoe since reaching the Estoril final in 2018.

Champion, ITF W80 (Tyler, Texas)

Ann Li took  home the singles title in her third appearance in Tyler, Texas. It was a slugfest against No. 8 seed Marta Kostyuk, but Li managed a 7-5, 6-3 victory. The win bumps Li into the Top 100 for the first time, and she will compete at the W100 ITF in Charleston this week to keep the momentum going.

3

Champion, ITF M15 (Egypt)

Another first-time winner has been crowned in an ITF tournament. Felix Corwin nabbed the M15 Egypt title by beating the No. 1 seed Alessandro Bega in the semi-finals then David Poljak in the final. The win has pushed the 24-year-old to a career-high ranking of No. 544.

4

Doubles Finalist, ITF W15 (Bulgaria)

The 16-year-old has (obviously) not had a long career so far as a professional player. Yet Kouzmanov has already shown promise by reaching the doubles final of the W15 ITF event in Bulgaria. On the singles side, she earned her second clay court win of the year by beating Nevena Sokovic from Serbia.

5

Quarterfinalist, Astana Open

The No. 7 seed fought his way into the quarterfinals before losing to the eventual champion Millman. Yet Paul has a lot to be proud of, not dropping a set until his meeting with Millman, in which he held two match points. It was his first quarterfinal run since Acapulco in February. Paul will face Gilles Simon in the Paris ATP Masters 1000 on Tuesday.
