Kamau Murray made quite the impression in his Tennis Channel debut this year, both as a member of the Tennis Channel Live crew and a color commentator and analyst.

Currently Sloane Stephens’ coach, Murray brings expertise to the already star-studded Tennis Channel crew. Earlier this week, he discussed Stephens’ up and down past few years with Noah Eagle and Chanda Rubin.

“If we had to do it all over again we’d probably lock back into our process and try and quiet some of the noise,” Murray said of Stephens’ most recent US Open, where she fell in the third round to Serena Williams.

“It gets harder to win a Grand Slam the second and third time," Murray said. “You try not to mess things up, it becomes harder because you understand the history and what’s at stake.”

Murray is drawing early comparisons to former player turned broadcasting wizard, Tony Romo.

While he’s a long way to go to catch Romo, Murray’s technical and strategical expertise is already on display.
