After 15 years on tour, Julia Goerges has ended her career. The German announced her retirement on social media with a personal letter to her fans and the sport that she has been playing since she was just five years old.

Her final match came at Roland Garros and her ranking dropped to No. 45 after an abbreviated 2020 season. Yet this season is not a measure of her storied career. Numerous singles, doubles, and mixed doubles wins, as well as a career-defining semifinal run at a Grand Slam (not to mention the 17 wins against Top-10 opponents) has cemented Goerges' place in tennis history.
