Citi Taste of Tennis has done it again. Following the successful first Legend Series virtual cooking event with Maria Sharapova and Richard Blais, the culinary-tennis fusion powerhouse returned with John McEnroe and JJ Johnson.

McEnroe may lack kitchen experience, but he made up for it tenfold with commentary and energy in front of over 100 clients and guests. Johnson, an award winning chef and cooking show host, guided everyone through a chicken curry with sticky coconut rice recipe.

"I'm more of a breakfast guy," McEnroe said to chef Johnson and host Prakash Amritraj. "I'm good at eggs and pancakes, and that kind of things. I'd love to be a good chef."

The seven-time Grand Slam champion has certainly been juggling enough with a tennis academy in New York City, six children, a modest music and acting career, a full-fledged commentary gig, and a successful stint as the narrator on the hit Netflix show "Never Have I Ever".

While McEnroe's tennis game was known more for theatrics and explosiveness, he's a lot calmer near a hot stove.

"You said simple. I like simple," he told Johnson. "This looks like a great recipe for me: Easy. You've got some protein. I love rice."

And even though the 61-year-old said, "I'm just learning the ins and outs of this cooking thing," he pulled off the delicious curry with ease.

The third Citi Taste of Tennis Legend Series event will feature Billie Jean King and chef Marc Murphy.
