Taylor Townsend unveiled big news on Wednesday: she's pregnant. The 24-year-old is due to welcome her first child in March.

"Life has a funny way of putting you exactly where you are supposed to be. I’m so excited to embark on the journey of motherhood!!" she wrote, while also voicing an emotional video showing off her baby bump.

The world No. 90-ranked American was notably absent from the clay-court swing after a great run to the semifinals of the US Open with Asia Muhammad. Muhammad instead paired with Jessica Pegula at Roland Garros, where they reached the quarterfinals.

Townsend memorably reached the fourth round of the US Open in singles last year with an upset of Simona Halep, but this year she fell in the first round to Sachia Vickery.
