Twelve years after winning the title, Ana Ivanovic is taking over Roland Garros coverage as one of Tennis Channel Athlete Analysts. he 2008 champion has been delivering her insight and commentary, and is even doing a little trivia.
"Before I get back to my thoughts on the current event, Tennis Channel challenged me to a little 2008 Roland Garros trivia," said Ivanovic. "Of course, that is the year I took the trophy home with me!"
Some of the questions and answers included:
Q: What future Slam champ did you beat in the third round?
"I think my third round match was against Caroline Wozniacki. She was a young, upcoming player and that was one of the top matches we had."
Q: What was your 3rd set score against Jelena Jankovic in the semis?
"The final set against Jankvoc in the semi final, it was 6-4. All of our matches were super close."
Q: What former Roland Garros champ presented you the winner's trophy?
"It was Justine Henin who presented me the trophy. I remember I played the final against her the previous year and then that year, I think a week or two before the French Open, she announced her retirement and then she was there to present me the trophy."
The Serbian would share which new faces have stood out to her this fortnight, and one is Iga Swiatek. The 19-year-old is into the semifinals after another dominant performance.
Ivanovic will be joined by another Tennis Channel Athlete Analyst, sccer star Paulo Dybala. The 26-year-old Argentinian is good friends with Diego Schwartzman and dates Gabriela Sabatini's niece Oriana, so he's quite familiar with all things tennis.
