Serena Williams may not have bagged her 24th major singles title in Paris, but the 2021 Grand Slam calendar will be anyone's game.

In the meantime, she talks bags (as in textiles) with British Vogue, in a new clip timed to her appearing on the magazine's cover for the November issue.

British Vogue's editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, happily shared the cover on Instagram ahead of the October 9 release date. A featurette released on October 5 came with a grabby title in the superstar's own words: "'Tennis Is a Small Play in the Whole Scheme of Things': Serena Williams Is Just Getting Started."

The cover piece heralds Serena as a "mother, mogul and multiple Grand Slam winner."

That cover itself features Serena in a one-shoulder, pristine-white custom dress by Virgil Abloh, an artistic director at Louis Vuitton and founder and CEO of the Off-White label. The dress is an Off-White collaboration with Nike, and recalls the fashion pact that Williams made with these brands for her 2018 US Open dresses, which featured faux–off-the-shoulder looks.

The ever-quotable Serena is in fine verbal form for this feature, stating, "How amazing that my body has been able to give me the career that I’ve had. I only wish I had been thankful sooner."

She also speaks to topics of gender and racial inequality, sharing, "Someone in my position can show women and people of color that we have a voice, because Lord knows I use mine."
