Petra Kvitova

It appeared Leylah Fernandez was well on her way to upsetting the world No. 11, but Kvitova managed to flip the switch after going down 5-1 in the opening set. Kvitova would save two set points and eventually take the first set 7-5. From there, the No. 7 seed controlled the court by stepping in and taking every opportunity to approach the net to take the second set 6-3.

"Never easy to face a fellow leftie, and Leylah Fernandez played very well. Me? I'm excited to be back in the second week at Roland Garros after five years and ready to keep fighting for more," Kvitova wrote on Twitter.

Novak Djokovic

The Serbian has surpassed Roger Federer at 71 match victories on the terre battue in Paris. Djokovic only lost five games to qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan to slide into the second week. He heads into the last 16 only having lost a total of 15 games, his lowest ever entering the final week at Roland Garros.

Paula Badosa

The 2015 Roland Garros junior champion dismissed Jelena Ostapenko 6-4, 6-3. Badosa only hit 10 unforced errors and cracked 15 winners to reach the round of 16 at a major for the first time in her career. Following her upset victory, Badosa sat on the bench in tears.

Karen Khachanov

In his fourth Roland Garros appearance Khachanov is through to his fourth round of 16 on the dirt. The world No. 15 defeated Cristian Garin, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, to set up a date with world No. 1 Djokovic on Monday. The Russian has defeated Djokovic once before in Paris but never on clay.

Roberto Carballes Baena

After handling Steve Johnson and upsetting No. 9 seed Denis Shapovalov, it seemed the Spaniard would shake things up against Grigor Dimitrov.  But, clearly in pain, he was forced to retire while down 6-1, 6-3 .

"I have been throwing up all the day," Carballes Baena told press."I started yesterday night at 3 a.m. I tried to warm up and tried to play, but I couldn't. It was impossible."
