Serena Williams is one of the busiest and most successful women in the world, but never one to pass up an opportunity for a cheeky comment on Instagram. Alexander Zverev was lucky enough to be the recipient.

Zverev and former world No. 3 David Ferrer have been working together since August, when the German decided to add another member to his team. Their partnership had started out as a trial run, but the recently retired Ferrer now been added to Zverev’s team as a full-time coach. On the heels of Zverev’s first career final run at the US Open, it makes sense.

The world No. 7 took to Instagram to share a hype video of himself and Ferrer, captioning it, “Grind season just around the corner. So found just the right guy for it."

The post racked up thousands of likes and comments, but the most noteworthy comes from none other than Serena. The 23-time Grand Slam champion wrote, “Nice but I was hoping I got the gig…next time.”

Zverev responded by calling Serena the GOAT, and asking that she give him time to win a few Grand Slams before he asks her to be his coach.

The exchange was enough to make one simply scrolling through their phone stop and smile, and was undoubtedly a memorable moment for Zverev. After all, how often does one get jokingly asked by Serena to let her be their coach?

Both Serena and Zverev will return to competition at Roland Garros next week, where they can discuss this matter further in person.
