Serena Williams has proven time and time again that she can do anything on a tennis court—literally anything. The 38-year-old is two wins away from No. 24 in New York and in her quarterfinal battle with Tsvetana Pironkova on Wednesday, she pulled out something fans haven't seen often: a lefty forehand.

"At that point I was fighting so hard," Serena told press. "I don't know. Actually been hitting a little lefty in my practice but not on purpose. I noticed the other day, like, I hit a lefty shot and I was just in practice being super intense, and I guess it came through in the match."

Sometimes you've just go to to do what you've got to do to survive: she'd do it twice.

It's remarkable that her second lefty return would set off a point that would turn into one of the most epic of the match in the first game of the third set.

Champions will do anything to win, that is fact.

"This is the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam, and I was just trying to do everything I can whether righty or lefty," she said.

Serena ultimately won, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and now awaits the winner of Victoria Azarenka and Elise Mertens. Can spectators and her opponent expect more lefty magic? Stay tuned.
