Having been a global star for multiple years now, Naomi Osaka is already looking for ways to make an impact outside the pro tour.

In partnership with Nike and Laureus Sport for Good, Osaka announced the launch of the Play Academy, a grant program designed to help girls from underrepresented communities become involved in sports and maintain an active lifestyle—beginning in Tokyo for now.

To spread the word, Osaka gave some tennis tips and perseverance advice to a group of (very enthusiastic) girls:

"Through the Play Academy, I want girls to be happy with sports and play and to be aware of their potential, she said in the Laureus announcement. "I wonder if such girls can become role models that the next generation will aim for.
