Kenin's secret to her success is her fighting spirit and the secret to her drop shot is practice. Even though she won the Australian Open, her training regime didn't change and she's focused on what's coming next, even during the shutdown.

“I literally practiced every day except on the weekends,” she said. “We had a private court. I hit with a hitting partner and she stayed for the past three months. I’m doing fitness here just to keep it up since I’ve done a lot during this pandemic.”

The 21-year-old is currently ranked No. 4 and is heading into the tour reopening fresh from a busy season of World TeamTennis. In West Virginia, she picked up a ton of singles and doubles wins for the Philadelphia Freedoms, but her team would fall in the semifinals to the eventual champions, New York Empire.

She plans to next compete at the Western & Southern Open in New York.
