Sports fans love to compare athletes from different disciplines and imagine how they'd do in games that aren't their own.

And this week's episode of CBS's Game On! took that fantasy to the next level, pitting Venus Williams against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Rob Gronkowski in a series of challenges involving sprinting, football, tennis and basketball.

In the sprinting event, competitors had to blast through a paper barrier at the fastest speed possible. Venus had a strong showing of 14.0 mph, but Gronk just barely beat her number, running 14.2.

However, Williams redeemed herself in an accuracy challenge, in which Gronkowski needed five attempts to use a football to knock a trophy off his teammate's head, while Venus succeeded with a tennis ball in only three:

Finally, with an impressive shooting performance in a pool-basketball/trivia challenge, Williams led Team Venus in securing a 15-13 overall victory.

Team Gronk was then punished by needing to do an "Irish jig of defeat":

Venus and Gronk both have highly anticipated returns on the horizon in their actual sports, with Gronkowski coming out of semi-retirement to play for Tampa Bay and Venus looking to reverse course from an 0-3 start to her 27th pro season. She's in action this week in World TeamTennis for the Washington Kastles.
