Monday would have been the start of the 2020 Wimbledon championships, and players around the globe are feeling nostalgic for the crisply manicured lawns of the All England Club. Past champions and participants took to social media to share their thoughts and best photos at missing the grass-court Grand Slam this year.
This photo captures all the wimbledon emotions...Emergency surgery to remove a benign ovarian cyst 12 days before, a top ten upset but no media coverage, trying to battle my expectations versus others, the pressures after making semis of a slam earlier in the year. Some amazing fans that helped me persevere, and some delicious Putney Pies???? Thank you for all of the learning experiences and memories @wimbledon I better see you next year. #wimbledonrecreated

I have been to @wimbledon every single year for almost six decades. Today would have been opening day of The Championships 2020. Like so many others, I am missing Wimbledon terribly this year, and yet I know next year will be worth the wait. Over the next two weeks, I’m going to share some favorite photos and memories of my home away from home, which will hopefully make the wait until 2021 a little less painful. What is your favorite Wimbledon memory? #Wimbledon #TheChampionships
Until next year, Wimbledon!
