Moutet boxes and plays soccer on court at UTS

Fast-rising Frenchman Corentin Moutet was added to the Ultimate Tennis Showdown field, and he was more than eager to get going. Replacing Lucas Pouille, the 21-year-old played his first match on June 20th, and debuted his nickname proudly.

He hadn't competed since Rio de Janeiro in February. Moutet has just begun carving out a name for himself on the ATP tour after a breakthrough in Doha when he reached the final as qualifier with wins over Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic and Fernando Verdasco. The run would push him to a career-high ranking of No. 70.

After opening his UTS campaign with a loss to compatriot Benoit Paire, Moutet would top Alexei Popyrin "The Sniper" 4-0. He also beat Popyrin earlier this year in the qualifying rounds in Doha.

The world No. 75 is a Paris native and so he's feeling right at home in Nice at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy.

This past weekend, he went 1-1 again with a win over Dustin Brown and a loss to Richard Gasquet.

Moutet is picking up a reputation for his emotional and passionate persona on court, and his nickname reflects that. If you've ever seen the talented Frenchman compete, you know he has a penchant for artistry and showing emotion—luckily UTS is here for it.

Moutet is No. 8 in the UTS rankings, which features 10 players and has three more weekends of action to go.
