On Monday at the Country Club Geneva, a pair of Grand Slam champions hit the practice courts together. World No. 17 Stan Wawrinka and world No. 16 Garbine Muguruza were back in action under the summer sun.

This season before the shutdown, Muguruza began 2020 by being forced to withdraw from Hobart. Despite the rough start, she had her best showing at the Australian Open when she reached the final where she lost to Sofia Kenin in three sets.

Although the coronavirus stopped competitive tennis in its tracks, Muguruza still looks to be in top form, and the same goes for Wawrinka who has been posting many of his practice and workout sessions.

The 35-year-old is in tip-top shape and is still a regular member of the last eight at the majors. At the Australian Open he fell in the quarterfinals to Alexander Zverev in four sets.

Wawrinka was also seen taking the court with Gael Monfils in Geneva and has even trained with youngster Jannik Sinner in Monte Carlo.

While the ATP tour remains on hold until mid-August when the Citi Open begins, Wawrinka may be taking up another interest thanks to his daughter Alex.

The ATP tour will begin on August 14 in Washington while the WTA schedule begins earlier, on August 3 in Palermo, Italy.
