On Monday's Tennis Channel Live, Andy Roddick opened up his thoughts on how the top players are reacting to possibly playing the Grand Slams and bigger events in empty stadiums.

Notably, Petra Kvitova recently said she would rather cancel Grand Slam events than play without fans.

"We all would rather play in front of fans, we all would rather not have to do the things that we are doing currently to protect ourselves and to protect one another," Roddick said. "I would strongly suggest her to think about her friends who are No. 70, 80, 90 in the world, to the tennis fans that are starving for content right now."

Kvitova is taking part in an exhibition event in Prague alongside fellow Czech stars like Barbora Strycova and Barbora Krejcikova and Karolina Muchova. Kvitova also shared her distaste for the racquet tap, saying "that's the most unpleasant thing I'm in for".

The world No. 12 is not the only player who is sharing reservations, as Roger Federer is also battling with the idea of competing with no fans.

"To play completely empty for the biggest tournaments, this will be difficult for me," Federer said.

Jim Courier chimed in on Tennis Channel Live to echo Roddick's thoughts.

"[Federer] gets more fan support than probably anyone ever has in the game, but I think Andy's point is about taking the big picture here," Courier said. "Thinking about the whole ecosystem of tennis, the fans, everyone that supports the game."

Courier hopes that the top players will still compete and stressed that the full context of the Federer and Kvitova's quotes are missing so no one should criticize their statements too harshly.

"If the top players won't play without fans, Houston, we have a major problem," Courier said.

"I think the fans come out for us," Roddick said. "But frankly, I think it's our time to come out for them."
