Before Bianca Andreescu burst onto the scene at Indian Wells last year, the Canadian teenage was just a kid chasing her dreams. One of her many fan clubs posted a throwback video of the world No. 6 practicing her serve at the age of 11.

Her mom Maria noticed the clip on Twitter, commenting that "it was like yesterday".

Remarkably, just seven years later, that little girl would win the US Open, making history as the first Canadian singles major champion ever.

Her mom, and dog Coco, stole the show from the stands while Andreescu beat the likes of Caroline Wozniacki, Taylor Townsend, Elise Mertens, Belinda Bencic and Serena Williams.

Andreescu is using this extended break—with tour play just pushed back to July 31—to heal a knee injury.
