Alexander Zverev isn't on hiatus, even if the tour is. The 23-year-old German has been training hard in Tampa, Fla., where he has been with his family since the tours stopped more than two months ago.

"I get up at 7:45 a.m. and do training from 9 a.m. 'till 1:30 p.m. Then training again from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.," he said in an interview with *Kicker*.

Even though he's keeping to the same strict schedule he might have during a normal training block, Zverev has also adapted to what looks likely to be a long break from competition.

"I do fitness sessions about twice a day and tennis training once," he said. "Usually it would be the other way around. If I don't play for the next four to five months, there is no point in training a lot of tennis. That's why I do more fitness and pay attention to my physical conditioning."

Zverev, who is coached by his father, Alexander Sr., also has kept his team busy doing video analysis of his game and designing training plans. While concentrating on fitness, he says he is also working on his strokes, especially on his sometimes shaky serve and backhand, which is considered a strength.

"This includes playing aggressive tennis and net game," the world No. 7 said. "I try to play so I'm the player controlling the point. You can work on something like that because you now have the time."
