Actor Paul Wesley might be stealing hearts through his on-screen performances, but his heart seems to be taken by the game that starts with love. The Vampire Diaries star recently appeared on Tennis Channel Live and talked about his admiration for tennis and its players.

"I feel like acting, in a way, isn’t a competition, but it is a mental endurance," Wesley said, of comparing acting and tennis. "It’s a game of trying to persevere, not over think, and use your instinct."

Wesley dived even deeper into the sport by answering a series of rapid fire questions such as: Which tennis player would he trade places with for a day?

"Nick Kyrgios probably, just so I could see how angry people are, when he acts up when he's playing or Fabio Fognini," Wesley said. "One of those two guys, they are always riling up the crowd and it would be funny to be in their shoes for a second."

Wesley doesn't just follow the action; he has a strong understanding on the mental and physical demands of playing the sport. He opened up about his friend Gael Monfils and how impressed he is by his ability to stay calm before a big match.

"I went to the US Open one year and I rode in the van or whatever on the way to the stadium with Gael and his team and a few other people," Wesley said. "He was just about to play this huge match, he was just like totally chill, listening to hip-hop, just laughing, having a good time. I was just sitting there nervous, I'm not even playing. I'm just sitting there watching and this guy is so chill, smile on his face.

"I just thought what an unbelievable quality to possess."

Wesley then went on to pick his favorite quarantine house. No surprise, but Wesley chose House #2 which included Monfils and Roger Federer, who he chose as the player he would like to have dinner with.

Before concluding, Wesley answered the burning question of the hour, or century: Who is the GOAT?

For Wesley, it was a toss up between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, and in the end he chose the Swiss.

"He's just so graceful and he's just like an art form and that one-handed backhand is just too good."
