Remember when Novak Djokovic was doing a little rallying inside the house with a frying pan as his stick of choice? Or when Roger Federer inspired tennis players around the world to fine-tune their volleys while breaking out their finest—or funniest—caps?

Well, Leander Paes has combined elements of the two and added his own touch.

The doubles great, who recently showed off his volleying skills with a frying pan on Instagram, took it to the next level with a post yesterday where he goes with the no-look approach in his Frying Pan Challenge.

Former world No. 4 Brad Gilbert was impressed.

And Gilbert makes an excellent point about the 18-time Grand Slam champion, who is set to retire this year: There isn’t much he can’t do when it comes to hitting a tennis ball.

Paes issued the challenge to many of his colleagues on the ATP Tour, but perhaps he should have glanced over at the WTA, where the Russian Daria Kasatkina has been showing she has hands—and feet—for days while staying inside. And like Paes, she’s quite adept at hitting a tennis ball with anything racquet-shaped.
