On Sunday, Kristie Ahn took the time to talk to Tennis Channel Live's Steve Weissman and Tracy Austin. The player council member revealed how the WTA is responding and handling the unexpected coronavirus pandemic.

"The player council has been incredibly active, all of us, we have a group chat going and every day it's blowing up," Ahn said. "Everyone has ideas and everyone has concerns, so we're trying to address everything as best we can."

Not only is the world No. 96 speaking to the WTA and discussing options and timelines, but she's also relaying these important conversations to players before it breaks on social media and news outlets.

Just over a week ago, players were pouring into Indian Wells and preparing to compete in the desert. One local coronavirus case emerged in the Coachella Valley forcing the BNP Paribas Open to make the difficult decision of cancelling the event.

From this point on, it feels the world has changed drastically. The NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA and more sport leagues have cancelled games and now restaurants, stores, bars and more are closing their doors.

"It's been crazy because it feels like every time we make a plan, a new wrench gets thrown our way," Ahn said. "So we have to constantly be pivoting."

The 27-year-old said she's trying to get answers for her fellow players but is remaining sympathetic and understanding to the WTA events that are put in a tough situation.
