Every week, Baseline will look at the American players that are making waves from the ATP and WTA.

Here are this week's biggest American results:

1

Semifinalist, Dubai

Brady enjoyed an impressive run in Dubai, beating Garbine Muguruza and Elina Svitolina, on her way from qualifying to the semifinals. Top seed Simona Halep was simply too much for the American, but Brady earned enough ranking points to crack the Top 50 for the first time.

Quarterfinalist, Delray Beach

The 2018 champion was hoping to recapture his crown to jumpstart his 2020 season, but couldn't quite get passed Ugo Humbert in the quarterfinals. He swept aside Emilio Gomez and Tommy Paul, but didn't keep up the level of play against the French player.
