Rybakina has been skyrocketing up the rankings. She started 2020 by reaching four finals in five events, including her second career title win in Hobart. The 20-year-old was up a set as well as by a break at 3-1 in the third set, before letting the WTA Premier trophy slip away.

Mager is a 25-year-old ranked No. 128. He had a 2-3 career ATP record going into the ATP 500 in Brazil, and has only ever played in eight ATP events (losing in qualifying five times). He'll face lucky loser Attila Balazs if rain ever allows play to continue.
