Maria Sharapova paved the way when she began taking classes at Harvard University. The five-time Slam champion participated in the business program back in 2016.

Now, many WTA players have gone through the same program, especially when they find themselves with some extra time on their hand. Last semester's star pupils included Caroline Wozniacki, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Andrea Petkovic.

This semester, Monica Puig, Victoria Azarenka, Christina Mchale and Alla Kudryavtseva were all together in Boston recently to study alongside some Harvard MBA students.

The course requires a full day of classes on campus and then putting in hours remotely with a team of students across the semester.

The WTA also offers players the option to complete their undergraduate studies online at Indiana University East, which many players including Venus Williams, have taken advantage of.
