Venus Williams moves into furniture design with new line

An interior-design aficionado for two decades, Venus Williams finds herself moving directly into the furniture realm.

With nearly 200 assets showing at the Las Vegas Market, in partnership with Compton, California–based UMA Enterprises, Williams and her V Starr Interiors team are displaying bedroom- and dining-room pieces, lighting, accent items, and more.

"[Venus]  created a series of mood boards that we used as our inspiration," said Sean Slack, senior buyer for UMA. "For many of the pieces, we developed three and four prototypes. Venus was very specific on color, so it was important to get the right samples."
