After two long weeks Down Under, only two players remain in the men's draw: Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem.

Djokovic has been in this situation eight times before, and holds the record for the most titles in Melbourne with seven. But he just lost to Thiem in the ATP Finals in London, and their head-to-head record is tight, with Djokovic leading 6-4.

Thiem has never played in an Australian Open final; his best effort was the round of 16 in 2017 and 2018. The Austrian has competed for a major before though, reaching back-to-back Roland Garros finals in 2018 and 2019.

Djokovic had a slightly easier time in the semifinals, beating Roger Federer in straight sets and getting an extra day off. On Friday, Thiem battled past Alexander Zverev 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4).
