Just two weeks into the 2020 season, Ugo Humbert has accomplished one of his goals: to win an ATP title.
The 21-year-old defeated Benoit Paire in an epic final to earn his maiden trophy at the ASB Classic in Auckland. His final three victories of the tournament were against seeded players, including Denis Shapovalov and John Isner.

It was an all-French final, and Humbert became the first Frenchman to win in Auckland. It came down to a final set tiebreaker, with Humbert squeaking out a 7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-6 (5) victory.
He is now at his career-high ranking of No. 43 in the world, breaking into the Top 50 for the first time. He will attempt to keep good times rolling against John Millman in the first round of the Australian Open.
