An unexpected friendship between Naomi Osaka and Daniil Medvedev's is blossoming for the whole world to see.

It all began when Osaka retweeted a GIF of Medvedev:

"Yeah, he's very interesting to me," Osaka said when asked about it in Brisbane. "I've never talked to him in real life, but just like the things that I see on the internet about him."

Medvedev took notice of the interest.

No budding romance is possible between the two, as Medvedev is married and Osaka is dating YBN Cordae.

In any case, both Osaka and Medvedev are having great starts to their 2020 campaigns. Osaka is through to the Brisbane semifinals, where she'll face Karolina Pliskova.
