Ashleigh Barty may not have gotten her 2020 season off to the best start, but she's acing life off the court. The Australian is an ambassador for the RSPCA, a group that fights against animal cruelty.

After the world No. 1 won a record-setting prize money haul at the WTA Finals, she used some of it for the RSPCA. As her nation battles wildfires, Barty pledged to donate all of her prize money from Brisbane to relief efforts.

Barty took a trip to the RSPCA while in Brisbane to visit with koalas, one of the animals greatly affected by the bushfire catastrophe streaking across Australia.

"One of the first things Gary and I did was come down here and visit the animals," she said, about her off-season visit. "And obviously with all the bushfires which have been going around, on and around our country has been terrible and devastating for all the people but also for all of the animals."

The No. 1 seed in Brisbane suffered a shock defeat Jennifer Brady, who would lose in the quarterfinals to Petra Kvitova.
