"See you in Sydney," said World No.2 Novak Djokovic after playing an impressive couple of matches against Team France on Monday.
Djokovic not kept his undefeated streak alive against Frenchman Gael Monfils, showing no mercy in his 6-2, 6-3 win.
Following singles, Djokovic teamed up with Viktor Troicki to defeat 2019 Wimbledon finalist Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Wining a deciding tiebreaker sealed the deal for team Serbia, securing their spot in the final eight.
Many Serbians were in attendance to witness the action-packed victory and it didn't go unnoticed. Serbia celebrates Christmas on January 7, making the fan commitment even more special.
"It was phenomenal," Djokovic said. "Serbian people, I mean, I didn't expect, to be honest, so many of them staying all the way through and basically being on a Christmas Day with us post-midnight, which is amazing. We want to thank them."
If Serbia wins the Cup and Djokovic remains undefeated, he'll pick up 750 ATP points. Spain's Rafael Nadal and Roberto Bautista Agut are also undefeated, as are Russians Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev.
Serbia will face Canada on Friday for a spot in the semifinals.
