In November, Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic put their turbulent past behind them and help lead France to a Fed Cup final win over Australia. The win was made all the more impressive by defeating the Australians on their home turf, with two victories over Barty.
At the WTA 125K Series in Houston, CiCi Bellis wins three matches in her first tournament since March 2018. The American underwent four surgeries on her right arm and will play a full schedule in 2020.
Coco Gauff is named to TIME’s 100 Next list, with Billie Jean King penning her magazine entry. The 15-year-old ends her breakout season with a singles title in Linz and a doubles crown in Luxembourg.
Despite the loss of his father earlier in the week, Roberto Bautista Agut helps Spain win the Davis Cup title in Madrid. Nadal provides the clinching victory over Canada's Denis Shapovalov.
In December, Bianca Andreescu gets named WTA Newcomer of the Year, and becomes the first tennis player to win the Lou Marsh award, given to Canada's top athlete.
Roger Federer gets voted as GQ's Most Stylish Man of the Decade. He beats A$AP Rocky, Jonah Hill, Harry Styles and Timothee Chalamet.
