If imitation remains the sincerest form of flattery, Billie Jean King must be blushing.

Again hosting a costume party for friends, the married pair of pop star Pink and motorsports athlete Carey Hart dressed as King and John McEnroe, and the former wrote on Instagram, "It’s our annual dress-up party, and of course I had to go as one of my personal heroes Billie Jean King. And of course, my husband is one of my other heroes, John McEnroe. I appreciate heart and determination in every facet of ones life. Serena is my modern day, of course. Booking tennis lessons as we speak."

Pink, looking every bit the part of hey-day BJK, sporting the tennis-meets-equality icon's famous spectacles and a pleated skirt, wielding a vintage-y "Tennis Lady" racquet. She also came correct with her wig game, more or less matching King's hairstyle from the era, which can be tricky to pull off (or put on). Hart himself donned a vivacious, curly wig and Johnny Mac's go-to white polo and short-shorts.

Obviously amused, and for every reason, Billie Jean King commented on Pink's post: "I love this! Thank you for the kind words, and for using your voice and platform to promote equality for all. Lessons after the New Year?"

Here's hoping the lot of them—Pink, Hart, King, McEnroe, and Serena Williams—convene somewhere this spring on an American hard court. Indian Wells or Miami would more than do for the occasion.
