Every year, a debate rages about who was the best player during the season. It may seem like an easy question to answer, just pick the person who won the most titles, but it's not that simple. On Friday, the ATP revealed its 2019 award winners, but it's not "Player of the Year" like on the WTA, it's just "ATP Tour No. 1."

Rafael Nadal picked up that honor as the most dominant player on tour this year based on number of points, prize money and year-end ranking. But, Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem actually won the most titles (five), and Daniil Medvedev reached the most finals with nine. Nadal won four titles, including two Grand Slams, but Djokovic won the other two majors.

"The best" can mean different things to different people, and fans haven't gotten a chance to chime in...yet.
