After the WTA Finals, it may seem like the women's tennis season is over. And, for most players, it is. But, somehow, there is one tournament left: the Open de Limoges. It's the only tournament that takes place in December, and it begins on Monday.

Because of its precarious position, and only recently getting promoted to a WTA 125K Series event from an ITF event, many people have never heard of—or, at least, don't know a lot—about the French tournament.

This year, quite a few notable players will be participating, including France's own Caroline Garcia. While it is hardly as prestigious as a Premier Mandatory, the Open de Limoges is an important practice point for players wanting to get in shape for the next season.
