The nominees for the 2019 ATP Awards have been announced, and both the season's stars and some players who haven't had the brightest spotlight shined on them are being recognized.

Unlike with the WTA, the award for the top singles player and doubles team is determined automatically by the year-end rankings, meaning the 2019 winners were Rafael Nadal and the Juan Sebastian Cabal–Robert Farah pairing.

Here are the nominees for the still-to-be-determined awards, to be awarded at the inaugural season-starting ATP Cup in January:

Maybe the most contentious award of all, though, is the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, which has been won by Roger Federer in 13 of the past 15 years, with Nadal  receiving it in 2010 and 2018.

This year's nominees are Federer, Nadal, Diego Schwartzman and Dominic Thiem.

Those awards are all voted on by the players, in addition to tournament awards for the best 250- 500- and Masters 1000-level event.

There's also Coach of the Year, selected by other coaches, the Fans' Favourite singles players and doubles team, decided by an online vote, and, picked by the ATP, the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award and Ron Bookman Media Excellence Award.
